Team Insight and Development

THREAD for Teams

More and more people are working in teams; both formal and informal and these teams are driving performance, culture and innovation across organisations.   While the use of teams has accelerated in recent years, the reality is that many, including executive teams tend to operate as a group of individuals rather than a cohesive team.  And in today’s work context, where people are often working in remote and hybrid work settings maximising team effectiveness can be even harder to gauge.

At the executive level the executive team has a significant influence on the performance and culture of the organisation.  Not only is it responsible for defining and executing the organisation’s strategy, its behaviour and actions cast a significant shadow across the organisation.

THREAD for Teams brings the core principle of Three Leadership to team development using context, insight and growth to accelerate team effectiveness.

While THREAD for Teams can be customised and scaled to suit your specific needs and circumstances, the core program operates across three critical and integrated phases aimed at maximising the impact and sustainability of the intervention.  These three phases include:

Team Insight

Our diagnostic approach considers team effectives from multiples angles.

THREAD for Teams’ integrated approach to diagnostics includes:

  • Team factors (survey, in depth interviews)

  • Individual behaviours (360 degree and/or targeted interviews)

  • Individual personality, values and preferences (personality and values inventory)

  • Team personality and drivers (based on collective personality and values factors)

Context

In the Context phase we focus on building the awareness, insights, skills and processes to operate as a high performing team.  These sessions are highly interactive working sessions that consider the insights gained through the diagnostic in terms of the team’s key business, team and personal priorities.  The sessions can be configured in a variety of ways to suit a company’s specific needs and circumstances but will typically address topics such as:

  • The role of teams

  • Results of diagnostic (essential)

  • Clarifying team priorities and implications

  • Understanding others – Personal tendencies, motivations, concerns and frustrations

  • The power of psychological safety

Growth

The work done through the Insight and Context phases will set the foundation for a high performing team.  But without a continued focus on sustainability there is a risk that the gains made may lose momentum.  THREAD for Teams offers a range of tools and processes to sustain the impact of your teams.  These can be facilitated by Three Leadership or transferred to the team or another key internal stakeholder.

When Would You Use THREAD for Teams?

  • When a team is not operating effectively

  • When a team and/or organisation is going through a significant change or transformation

  • When a team is focused on sustaining their performance and/or stepping it up to the next level

  • When a team is starting out

  • When there has been significant change to a team
